Ingredients
- 100g of dried Jackfruit
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 1-2 chopped green chilli
- Curry leaves
- Pandan leaves (optional)
- 2 tsp turmeric powder
- 4 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- Salt
- 120 ml thick coconut milk + 250 ml watery coconut milk (“”Diya kiri)
- Garlic
- 1 tsp mustered seeds
- 1-2 tsp black pepper seeds
Method
- Soak dried jackfruit pieces in lukewarm water for about 1 hr until the pieces become tender
- Wash and drain well
- Add watery coconut milk, onion, green chilli, curry leaves, pandan leaves, turmeric and curry powder, fenugreek seeds and salt
- Simmer on medium heat for 20-25 mins.
- Separately, make a paste with Garlic, Mustard, and black pepper.
- Once the jackfruit is tender, add the paste and tick coconut milk to it.
- Cook for another 10 mins on medium heat.
- Serve hot with rice.
